As the year wrapped up, the geolocation gaming landscape in Latin America saw varied performances among the top contenders. Sensor Tower provides a comprehensive look at how these games fared in the fourth quarter of 2023.
Pokémon GO from Niantic, Inc., a longstanding favorite, showed a revenue trend that peaked in mid-October at approximately $190K, before dropping to roughly $113K by the end of December. Downloads for the game hit a high of nearly 197K in the same peak week, with weekly active users starting strong at 12M in late September but dipping to just under 9.5M by the year's end.
Another Niantic title, Monster Hunter Now, which was released in September 2023, had a more modest performance. Its revenue in late September was close to $17.5K, and it experienced a slight rise in mid-December to about $9.3K. Downloads saw a sharp decline from 35K in late September to just over 1K by Christmas, while weekly active users fluctuated, ending the quarter at around 150K.
Jam City, Inc.'s Jurassic World Alive observed a revenue uptick in early December, reaching approximately $11.7K, and downloads saw a high of 34K in the same period. The weekly active users for the game showed a peak of 94K in mid-October, but there was a decline to roughly 69K by the close of the quarter.
For Tamadog - Puppy Pet Dog Games by Akita Limited Liability Company, revenues were fairly stable, hovering around the $5K mark throughout the quarter. The game's downloads saw a significant spike to 29K in the last week of December, and weekly active users grew from 28K to over 42K in the same period.
Lastly, Ingress Prime, also by Niantic, Inc., showed modest revenues averaging around $2K per week. Downloads and weekly active users were in the lower range, with the latter dropping to just 23 by the year's end.
